Excellent production. The songs & arrangements are very close to the originals. No drastic changes. Excellent tribute album.,

The unlikely pairing of Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong and Norah Jones works very well. Their goal was to record a faithful re-creation that could pay tribute to The Everly Brothers' original Cadence album "Songs Our Daddy Taught Us." Armstrong's voice resembles that of Don Everly and Jones does a great job filling in the gaps.
Surprisingly, the songs on this album are very close to the originals. Many critics have been quick to attack Armstrong and Jones for doing very little to change the arrangements of these legendary songs. If Armstrong and Jones had drastically changed the tempos and added new instrumentation to each song, they would have also been criticized. Essentially, they were damned if they did and damned if they did not.
Overall, this album deserves five stars. It has terrific production and the artists did not take drastic liberties that would compromise the originality of the classic songs.
