5.0 out of 5 stars Great season, January 12, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sex and the City: Season 6 (Amazon Instant Video)
While I didn't agree with the outcome of the final episodes of this final year, there were some wonderful moments in this last season. My favorites were the post it episode, and the episodes with Baryshnikov. My disappointment with the last few episodes had more to do with the believability of a writer (Carrie) who would leave the U.S. for Paris without taking her computer, without planning to write, without having any kind of professional plan for herself. I also didn't believe that a woman would so stupid as to expect anything less than total determined focus on the part of her lover in preparing his first big show in many years. Anyone who understands the committment of artists to their work would never be that stupid -- and if Carrie didn't understand that commitment, then she is a fool -- which is a disappointing way to end the series.

First... You did see she does NOT end up with Petrofsky, RIGHT? She comes back to the States...
Secondly, listen to the director's commentary on the last season, which is hugely insightful on all of your specific comments. They made those choices (the computer, following Petrofsky) for very precise reasons, which make perfect sense in relation to the character development and her history.

Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love, this show, but um....HELLO? Carrie IS a fool. Did you not watch seasons 1-5? A fool, yes, but highly relatable which is part of why I think this show has such a following. Carrie is flawed, and a fool, but aren't we all? :)

I agree with you Rainbow Bright! I wasnt disappointed because only Carrie would act that way. She IS a fool, a self centered idiotic fool. Nevertheless, i do enjoy the show! hahaha
