5.0 out of 5 stars Great server mobo, October 14, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: SUPERMICRO MBD-X9SCM-F-O LGA 1155 Intel C204 Micro ATX Intel Xeon E3 Server Motherboard (Personal Computers)
Bought this for my Windows Server 2012 Essentials server build. Easy to install and seems to be running without a hiccup. No configuration needed out of the box and has plenty of features that future-prrof it. A great value too.

Do you mind sharing how you set it up? I was thinking of going this route, thanks, Chuck.

I put in 16GB of RAM, using all 4 DIMMs in the MoBo
Kingston Technology ValueRAM 8GB Kit (2x4GB) DDR3 1333 MHz DIMM Desktop Server Memory KVR1333D3E9SK2/8G
I used the Quad Core XEON 3.2GHZ processor
Intel Xeon E3-1230V2 / 3.3 GHz processor
All built in a 4U case
ARK IPC-4U-500 Black 4U Rackmount Case 3 External 5.25 Drive Bays

That's the meat of the server. No accessories needed (the mobo comes with all the mounting hardware, the processor comes with a heatsink, and the case comes with the fans).

Drop in a hard drive of your choice and you're up and running.

It's been a solid (and quiet) system so far.
