Great Bang For The Buck!,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Sony VAIO E Series SVE15114FXS 15.5-Inch Laptop (2.5 GHz Intel Core i5-3210M Processor, 6GB DDR3, 640GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium) Aluminum Silver (Personal Computers)
I had to get a new mid-priced Laptop to replace the family one my kid is now taking to college so the research began. I wanted an i5 CPU for good speed, at least 6gigs of ram (which seems to be the minimum "sweet spot" requirement to run Win7)and I wanted to stay under $600.00. I looked at them all and this one kept coming to the top with it's combination of specs, features and good looks.
We got it two days ago and we couldn't be happier! Setup was a snap, bloatware was minimum, it's fast and the graphics look fantastic. We played a couple of YouTube band videos, they looked as good or better than my big gaming computer (I built myself) and the sound was decent of course no matter what anyone says bass just ain't gonna happen on teensey laptop speakers but these do sound pretty good for everyday listening. I like the music & video editing software that comes with it too.

I agree. I got mine last week and am very happy with my purchase. Never thought I'd be able to get a third gen i5 for this price. Machine looks great and feels solid.

This was my first choice but it is currently out of stock. I went with an Acer that has similar specs but the i5 processor is 2nd generation. If The Sony is in stock by September's I am buying it! They were both 579 but now the Acer is 599.

I returned that acer because the usb ports stopped functioning after only a few days. This is really a superior laptop. Hope you can get it.
