5.0 out of 5 stars Just watch it!!!, June 24, 2012

This review is from: Sleepaway Camp (DVD)
It's completely impossible to write a review of this film with no spoilers. I can't even begin.

This is one of my favorite films of all time.

Don't go into this film expecting to take it seriously. You won't be scared. You will, however, be massively entertained.

The wardrobe, hairstyles, and dialogue in itself is enough to make for a hilarious good time.

Not to mention that the plot, so seemingly predictable, is anything BUT!!! And will make you want to re-watch it immediately with knowing eyes.

All in all, the plot is SO much more original and shocking than the other slashers of its time, including it's close friend, Friday the 13th...actually, the first Friday the 13th was pretty original).

Still, it's the campy, '80s, B-movie at its finest!

Buy it now! Then buy the sequels! You won't be disappointed!

I personnally liked the sequels a lot better as B-movies.

Everyone talks about the shock ending of this one but I feel that's the only thing interesting at all about it myself as the movie is just too dated for me & even that shock ending was pretty boring to me but I guess that's probably because I saw the sequels 1st. This movie is def. disappointing out of sequence IMO. So if anyone hasn't seen them, watch them in order. If you're already out of order, maybe not bother with this one?

I guess it's akin to watching the Star Wars sequels in "proper" order. That "Luke I am your father," line can't be as impactful that way.

The sequels are good, but you really gotta see #1 to get it. As far as it being "too dated", who doesn't love the early 80's dialogue, bad outfits, and short shorts! Haha!

Little Ricky is my favorite. And the mom is pretty funny too. Did you see the recent "sequel" 'Return to Sleepaway Camp', where some of the original stars make cameos?! Check it out. The movie sucks, but there are some awesome kill scenes. I think the scene with the drunken pot-head by the lake (not giving any spoilers here) is one of the best kill scenes I've ever seen in a slasher flick!!

Hey Jill, here I am back on the Amazon forums. You've been missed there by some of us. We all have our reasons for coming and going. Hope you're doing well.
I'll be re-watching Sleepaway Camp this month in honor of... good small cult things.
