Guns N Roses in Las Vegas 2012,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Appetite For Democracy 3D: Live at the Hard Rock Casino- Las Vegas [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
My son, daughter and I went to the November 17 Las Vegas show, so buying this blue ray was a no brainer.
Axl Rose is still one of the best frontman and rock singers of all times. He has enough energy from the first song to the last song.
The band members are amazing. The 3 guitar players: Richard, Bumblefoot and DJ are just fantastic. Each doing solos on different songs to doing their own special solos. Frank the drummer and Tommy, the bass player, are some of the best musicians out there. Of course, there's also Dizzy Reed who has been a member and friend of Axl's for over 20 years now. This is my favorite all time rock band. I've seen them perform 3 times and they just deliver 110% every time. This is a must have for any GNR fan. One of the best shows I've ever seen and I've been going to concerts since the 1970's.

Like you, I've been going to rock shows since the '70's and my hearing is shot. I hope you wear earplugs!

Valerie, have you actually seen the DVD? If so, what is your opinion of it quality-wise? How does the editing stack up? Does it change angles every 2-3 seconds? How does the 3D visual stack up? etc. etc.

The BEST GN'R Show I ever saw was GN'R / Metallica / Faith No More. Probably one of the few shows Axel did not walk out on during the Use Your Illusions Tour. They Played for about Three Hours and Axel was at his best. I remember him even saying due to our energy that night he could not wait to get out on stage, and it showed as he hit the stage running and never stopped!
One of the Best 'Tallica Shows as well as shortly after James Hetfield had gotten burned on stage and then the Gn'R Riot, after that the Super Tour of Two Mega Bands kind of fell apart!

I am still holding back with GNR, I need slash up there not three guys trying to replace him. I know its water under the bridge but i would prefer to see the OG band back together. I will still buy this movie, I love hearing Axl sing

You only need the 3D version. To watch in 2D, just turn the 3D off.

Ron Thal aka Bumblefoot is a better technical guitarist than Slash. Yeah, I like Slash too but Ron is really, really good though. He's also a pretty talented producer and studio musician. Very, very pleasant guy, too. I'm still not quite clear if he's still with the band, though.
