Our Nation of Sheep,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Nation of Sheep (Hardcover)
Judge Napolitano has done it again! With superb clarity he reminds us of the vast chasm between what the United States is and how the United States is meant to be. As in his prior books, the Judge chronicles the step by step erosion of our constitutional rights and now challenges each reader to stand not as a sheep, but a wolf. He also reminds us that the only power that government is to have is that consented to by the governed. If you read only one non-fiction book this year...make it this one!

I used t feel the same way. Until I woke up. Let me summarize what you just said for you about SP and Lynne Stewart:
He was wrong to be--as always--obsessed with procedure and rules of evidence to the point that it showed that he clearly understood what America stands for: freedom that cannot be taken away by our government without proving someone guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, not just guilty beyond overwhelming public opinion.
I despise these American citizens who take pride in thwarting the government from wrongly imprisoning an innocent person. No surprise that anyone who understands that Liberty comes before Justice in that little pledge we all said as kids would support the one candidate who understands the same thing.

Myrna, you strike me as a fascist. Yes, let's not be concerned about "prodecures and rules of evidence" in a court, let's just convict someone because "public opinion" already has, and hey, Nutty Nancy Grace has already ruled on it.
How is Lynn Stewart a terrorist? Because she dared to defend someone accused of that? George Bush and Dick Cheney are the biggest terrorists in the world. Big Brother prosecuted Lynn Stewart because it wants to initmidate anyone who would defend an accused "terrorist" into not doing so or providing a less than zealous defense. They're sending a message that if you defend unpopular clients you're going to pay for it. And so this has indeed become a fascist police state.
