3.0 out of 5 stars A marginal improvement over Bioshock: Infinite, if only for two hours...not worth $7.49..., March 27, 2014

This review is from: BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea Episode 1 [Online Game Code] (Software Download)
Well...as the title suggests, it's slightly better than Bioshock: Infinite, which, for me, was one of the most disappointing games of 2013 (as well as the most overhyped and absurdly reviewed, by a wide margin). Nowhere near the level of the original Bioshock, one of the best games of the previous "generation," "Burial at Sea: Episode One" is two hours (no more, trust me) of, much like Infinite, initially entertaining exploration followed by tedious combat and incomprehensible storyline. On a positive note, Elizabeth is far less annoying this time around, and is almost slightly enjoyable as a sidekick (in stark contrast with Infinite, where she was game-ruining-intolerable after around two hours), but, like Infinite, the environment becomes boring very quickly, leaving nothing but silly "tear" actions, asinine rail gliding that doesn't add much in the way of strategy, and the same old plasmids (minus "Old Man Winter") as before. This expansion pack ("DLC," as they're now known) feels far more like Infinite than the original Bioshock, which is precisely what I'd hoped wouldn't be the case, and as such, if you're for some reason a huge Infinite fan, by all means, go ahead and grab this addition, as it presumably won't disappoint. All others, steer clear; this is not the return to Bioshock form that we might have heard it labeled as.
