Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: API Filstar XP-S Canister Filter (Misc.)
The xP1 is tiny. I have two running under my 60 gallon. The flow rate is low, so I had to get two Koralia's to compensate. There's not much that can go in here but filter pads and a bag of Charcoal...so I've decided to get rid of both and just have live rock inside. It ends up being a huge detritus trap.

I would agree that 2 XP1s would be too little filtration for a 60g tank. I would suggest, at a minimum, two XP2s; although, I think most people would run an XP3 on a tank of that size. Personally, I like to over filter so I have two XP4s on my 75g and 90g planted tanks. I could not imagine trying to run XP1s on a 60g tank.

Not surprised that you needed two running under your 60 gallon tank. API (the manufacturer) rates this particular canister filter for no more than 45 gallons (with a 250 gal per hour flow rate).

You're actually disappointed that the filter trapped detritus?
