Why go green? Juicing and blending vegetables has been around quite a while, but this book's benefit-boosting blend with greens got me going.
John Chatham runs us through a gamut of green gourmet smoothies and juices, and explains away some mixed conceptions.
Most of us would have the initial reaction of: Greens? Bitter! But now I beg to differ. I made a kale-based smoothie, and it was delicious!
The difference is in the details, and this book is on the mark for explaining our body's need for detoxification periodically, and how organic, clean, blended or juiced green vegetation can accomplish that aim.
Chatham provides a multitude of fruit, vegetable and green recipes for mixing and juicing, and explains the bodily benefits of both processes. He gives guidelines for the purchase of blenders and juicers, and which vegetables and fruits to keep on hand to pull experimental blending bombs back from the brink.
Most importantly, the recipes are tasty! Nutrition never had it so good!
