This review is from: True tales from the annals of crime and rascality (Modern library paperbacks) (Hardcover)
I grew up reading "The New Yorker" and have always loved this style of writing the most famous of which, contemporaneously, is done by John McPhee. This is good stuff, "Mr 880", about the smallest of small-time counterfeiters, was made into a movie. I loved the article when I first read it and it was a treat to read again.
Readers should be aware that seven of the twelve articles contained in this book are also found in the author's "Reporting at Wit's End" which has 18 articles.
