1.0 out of 5 stars Mud, February 16, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Takin It to the Streets (Audio CD)
My stereo catches every trebley tinkley note on a recording. This thing sounds like I friend my tweeters!! No high end whatsoever. Voices buried so far back in the mix. STEVE HOFFMAN WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!? HELP!!! It keeps you running starts with keyboards mixed so far back it sounds like an outtake. And the opener, wheels of fie, should be retitled "Wheels of pablum". No fire there. Muddy horrible mix, probably from a cassette I left in the sun in the back seat of my car when I went to Europe for the summer. SACD? It does not justify AM radio.

Which version did you buy? The old 1990 or this later 2008? Or are you talking about the SACD that sounds bad?? I have my old LP from 1976 and it needs to be replaced so which CD do I get? So many different versions and you say the one you have is re mixed for the worse. Just need to know which one to get. Thanks.

BJJ Beginner says:
The SACD sounds like mud. I have a very revealing surround system (Martin Logan Frescoes and Vistas) and this POS sounds like there is a blanket on the speakers.

Oh well, I'll just ordered the standard CD for about $4 or so. I'll look for a clean vinyl copy down the road to replace my 35 year old snap, crakle and pop copy. Thanks BJJ.
