I do not recommend,
This review is from: Panasonic SC-BTT490 Energy Star 5.1-Channel 1000-Watt Full HD 3D Blu-Ray Home Theater System with Built-in Wi-Fi (2012 Model) (Electronics)
I bought this system at costco, I returned it after 20 days of putting up with it. Here is why I do not recommend this system.
Netflix does not work properly on this system. At least half of the time while I was watching Netflix, the movie stopped and got an error message saying the system could not detect my wireless network. Other wireless device in my household still could see the network. I called Panasonic support twice on this issue. After reconfiguring the system's network setting with the technician, it worked for a while but then the issue happened again. This issue is reported in other user reviews. A solution that worked all the time was to unplug the system for 10 seconds and restart it. However, I figure I paid too much for doing that 3-4 times during a movie. I'll go back to use my trusted PS3.
Sound cut off intermittently. I have a comcast cable box which was connected to the system via HDMI. Every 5 min or so, the sound would stop for a split second and come back on. It was just a simple annoyance at first but then again, I figured I paid way too much to have to accept it. I discussed the issue with a Panasonic technician and she told me that the ''recommended'' way to connect my TV with the system and the cable box was via the optical out, which I had to go buy because it's not included. Funny because a HDMI cable is included in the package but no optical wire. Which leave me to wonder why would Panasonic includes anything else than what is ''recommended'' accessories for use with the system. Again, I feel I paid too much to have to buy another accessory which should have been included as it is the ''recommended''.
Poor Interface. The system takes over the TV so when you press power on the systems remote, it turn the TV and the system simultaneously. However, once the system is on, you need to navigate to find appropriate output to watch TV. As another review pointed out, it's not so bad at first but it became annoying. Also, the Ipod, youtube and browser interface are slow and just plain horrible.
The only reason why I do not give it single star is because the sound was very good. However, all the issues I had to put up with and the crappy interface ruined my experience.
I do not recommend this system.
