Dig deep on this one and you will find Gold,
This review is from: Turn Blue (MP3 Music)
I admit Fever didn't really do it for me and Turn Blue, while decent was kind of dull. That said, now having listened to the full album multiple times, the best songs are the ones unreleased so far. Weight of Love is probably one of the best Key's songs ever, a truly epic song that brings back memories of the some of the great Floyd and Zepplin songs. Its Up To You Now is classic Keys, great hook riff and bluesy vibe. In Our Prime is swiftly becoming one of my favorites as well. It is uncannily Beatles evoking with its change of directions and vocals. Not to mention Bullet in the Brain, In Time, Year in Review, and Gotta Get Away remind me of some of the great El Camino moments. The weakest songs are 10 lovers, Waiting on Words and the aforementioned Fever.
I hear the complaints of some of the purists that want the old raw blues Keys back. Some part of me misses every song being a raw blues experience. I get what they are now trying to do though. The Keys are trying to evolve their sound to what Black Keys music is, the same way that Zepplin, the Beatles, Floyd and the other greats did over time. With 8 great albums the Keys are working their way towards legendary, they are not there yet, but they are on the way. With the initial evolution in Attack and Release and Brothers, followed by the refinement in El Camino, Turn Blue helps establish what IS The Black Keys musical sound, so at some point in time, THEY will be the emulated and not the emulators. Here is to hoping their next foray is some kind of double length EP like Physical Graffiti or White.

Thanks! Which part?
I am really liking this album the more and more I listen to it. I listen to it already more than I did El Camino. So I am evolving to the newer sound considering my favorite Keys were Rubber Factory, ThickFreakness and Attack and Release (Same old Things IS my favorite Keys song).
