Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Canon SELPHY CP900 White Wireless Color Photo Printer (Office Product)
This has got to be the most aggravating product I have purchased in a long time. This product advertises that it can print from a smart phone. The problem is the software that allows for this does not exist yet. I installed the Canon Easyprint App on my Samsung phone, but it is not compatible with the printer. The instruction manual that came with the printer says check the Canon web site for the App. However, the Canon web site says use the EasyPrint App, but the App does not list the printer as being compatible. In fine print on the Canon web site it says the printer is compatible with the Easyprint App, but the updated version for Android will not be available until "December 2012, or later"
As for the rest of the unit, Canon really cheapened out over the previous unit. While the CP800 is slightly larger, it allowed you to print from multiple sized cards. If you have a Canon DSLR that uses Compact Flash Cards then this printer will be useless for you. It only accepts SD cards.
In summary, if you plan to use this with a smartphone don't buy it. Maybe the iphone will work, but my Samsung phone won't. If you have CF cards it won't work for either. Don't even think of using a usb adapter card because Canon designed the unit to refuse the adapters.

I can confirm that the printer doesn't work with Android. App says printer not supported. Works fine with Iphone. App on Apple Store sees printer and prints fine.

I'm glad to see this review. I was about to purchase it for my Andriod Tablet and Phone. I will now pass...Until Dec 2012 to see if the drivers or app works.

Wow! Thanks for posting this. I was going to purchase the CP900. I guess I will wait until they send an updated or fix for it.

Guess you can add Windows 8 to the list of unsupported operating systems. I emailed tech support about it and the instructions they sent me didn't work - they suggest to install the printer by going to devices -> add printer and then requesting Windows to look for drivers at Windows Update. Did all of it and the drivers at Windows Update don't have files for the Selphy CP-900.

use a USB cable to connect your Canon DSLR to the printer and print via pictbridge. They removed the Compact flash card slot because all canon DSLRs support Pictbridge. Hope this helps.
