I thought there were limitations, too, but the comment this user has posted is not accurate. You can control many things through the EZ Commander. DCC switches are all controlled out of the # 9 command. You can then assign separate numbers to switches or link them so that when you throw one, another one will trigge, toor. Locomotives can be assigned to the other nine slots, maybe even to 9 itself, giving you 10 engines to control.
Switches, of course, don't have to be linked to a terminal. Just plug them in and they are connected.
