1.0 out of 5 stars Junk - not at all worth the price, March 28, 2011
This review is from: Levi's Men's 560 Comfort Fit Denim Jeans (Apparel)
I have worn Levi 560 jeans for years. They have always been my go to jean in the past. But not anymore. Levi's changed the fabric weight and quality of the jeans. The weigh is about half of what it used to be and the craftsmanship is poor at best. The back pockets are tearing and the belt loops are poorly sewn. There are snags in the denim and color issues. I used to be able to get at least a year or two out of each pair. The last two pairs I purchased in December 2010 are already torn and falling apart. The 560 jeans I purchased last year are actually in better shape than the jeans I just got. Steer clear as the quality is very poor but the price is still just as high. Search for a better value for your money.

I hate that I can't find these in stores any more or at a reasonable price. Have you found a brand/style that is comparable in fit?

They're made in Mexico now, not American.

I AGREE!!!! Levis USED to be something you could count on!!! NO MORE. How can you tell where they are made? Does Levis still make the REAL LEVIS? I even purchased Levis that were not the cheapest and they STILL were "pretend" levis!

I remember when you could fall and tear skin but the Levis wouldn't rip. Now they are as thin as dress pants. I think Carhardt makes a thicker denim but they don't fit like the 560's. Search "motorcycle jeans". Defender jeans from Diamond Gussett are 14.5oz denim and made in America. They run a little heavier than Levis. You can get 25oz jeans (compared to the 12oz or less that Levis uses now) from Ironheart and Samurai (made in Japan, good high quality jeans) but didn't see anything there that looked like 560's at all.

The better jeans now are Carhartt jeans, cheaper and better quality.Levis quality is poor at best not the same jeans as they used to be!

I think you bought the fake version probably by accident, especially if you bought it from Amazon or the web somewhere.
There are three versions of the same 560, 12 OZ , 8 OZ and the narrow taper at the foot which is the old version.
I have been wearing the 560 for over 25 years now, they made the tapering at the legs a little looser about 10 years ago, but still the same denim and lasts just as long, I usually dry clean my jeans and even the ones I bought 25 yeas ago I still have them and wear them all the time. About a year ago they added one light denim version but thats across the board for all levi's models, I also like the light denim version and they seem to be just as good and actually fit better, again, dry clean only, so far they look knew after a year of wearing the latest light weight denim. So now there are three versions of the same 560, 12 OZ , 8 OZ and the narrow taper at the foot which is the old version.
