3.0 out of 5 stars OK lights, 15% DOA, January 5, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 40 Super Bright Finger Flashlights - LED Finger Lamps - Rave Finger Lights (Sports)
These "Rave" light now have an elastic band that fits over your finger.
Work fine, but 6 of 40 did not work when I opened, then tested them. Emailed
vendor, and they suggested I press the plastic housing where the batteries are
located. Informed them that did not work so asked for replacements. No email response
after 2 weeks.

For the price, OK, but factor in a DOA percentage in your buying decision.

Not to be mean, but most of the "DOA" are NOT really "DOA!!!" The science behind these doesn't any easier than batteries, two contact points, and an LED. Most if not ALL of the "DOA's" just need to be taken apart and have the SHORTER of the two contact pins from the LED slightly adjusted! Pain in the butt I know, BUT we're not exactly paying top dollar for a hi-tech computer system sending men to Mars! Just make sure you put a piece of clear tape around the back end after putting it back together (CAREFULLY taking it apart).

I have purchased these before and am about to get another 2 or 3 sets of 40 because the kids just LOVE them! I will be giving the 4-packs to kids my 8 y/o girls softball team and boys 8 y/o boys hardball team!

The BEST usage and effect??? You want YOUR kid to be the TOTAL ENVY of every kid in the neighborhood ??? Stagger a red, white, and blue one on the spokes of both tires on their bikes!!! Simply unloop the rubber band and slide a Zip-Tie throught the slot and anchor them to the spokes! At dusk/dark they can simply flick the buttons on them ... AND BELIEVE ME .. IT REALLLLLLY LOOKS COOL as they streak down the street.... and the kids TOTALLY FREAK OUT!!!!

Besides .... 10000000x better than reflectors! Just make sure they/you turn them off when they come in to save battery life!

MINE LOVE IT!!!

dvd watcher says:
The guy rated it 3 stars due to the fact that 6 required repair. regardless what you spend do you have to dismiss 6/40 as needing repair or useless. Is that what an employer should expect of his minimum wage employes. They were the cheapest found 15% are useless and need extensive training/repair to be any use. Wonder which employe you are 'A Post'. Bet your employer facters a certain number of doa at your job. Pay crap, get crap. Your attitude welcome to America.

I'd have to agree with mostly. I got one 40 pack and figured out on my on in a couple of minutes that the duds simply weren't making contact with the battery. Some of them I got to work fine just by hand pushing the battery connections together although that may not last.

I did have 1 dud but at this price I'm more than willing to have a dud or two.

As far as the ones that have to be fixed.... I think they should have built them a little better than that... duds from dead batteries in shipping I was expecting but the battery not connecting right I wasn't. Still at this price I do plan on buying more.

The only real complaint I have is unless I just didn't find them..... I'd like to see these in 40 packs except plain white ones. I haven't used them much yet but I've found the white ones to work great as little flashlights like they key chain lights except no need to hold it. The colored ones don't work as good for flash lights.

I have found that simply rappng the duds on the flat side on a hard surface will bring them back to life. I have several left over that bought over 3 years ago and they still work great. They came in handy when we lost power last night and they were more than adequate to light the way.
