5.0 out of 5 stars I chose a Lumix with the same lens for half the price., October 5, 2012
This review is from: Leica 18176 V-LUX 40 14.1MP Compact Camera with 3.0-Inch TFT LCD (Black) (Electronics)
Panasonic Lumix ZS20 is a very similar camera with the same Leica lens and all the great features. Read reviews of both cameras and consider the price difference.

While I agree that the cameras are "almost" identical, you will find the Panasonic difficult to resell in the future. I have NEVER purchased a Leica I have not later sold for more money than I paid for it originally. I currently have two Panasonic Lumix cameras that I offered for sale for quite a while and couldn't get a fair price on, so my kids have them now. It's all about the resale value as well as the quality.

Great point.

I'm wondering if your past Leicas were film or digital cameras. Digitals generally become antiques in a few years.
