This review is from: Sony VAIO VGC-JS290J/Q 20.1-Inch All-in-One Desktop PC (2.8 GHz Intel Pentium Dual-Core E7400 Processor, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Drive, Blu-ray RW Drive, Vista Premium) Glossy Black (Personal Computers)
I have had this computer for two years now. Overall this computer has been good. It's well thought out and looks good. I get compliments all the time. It is still pretty snappy, handles moderate graphics well, and has more ram and hard drive space than most people will need.
The screen is very bright and sharp, though it could have been bigger. It's not full HD (1050), but movies look fine anyway. The BluRay burner is a definite plus for those who need it.
The keyboard is very nice. It has volume and screen brightness adjustment keys, which I use all the time. The mouse is small, but works fine. I just would have loved these to be wireless...
The web cam is okay, although pretty grainy. The mic picks up sound excellently. The speakers are sufficient.
I upgraded to Windows 7 early on and love it. But I had to deal with getting all the right drivers back up and running, which was a pain.
Also the power adapter was recalled. That was a painless replacement: they shipped me a new one and I shipped back the old.
Two things bother me: the annoying Sony crapware and the hard drive needed to be replaced after a year and a half. It took me several hours to uninstall the unnecessary software when I first got it. When the hdd died (it was from a bad batch at seagate, most of which were recalled by sony), I bought a new one online and really had no trouble putting it in. I've had no other problems.
