2.0 out of 5 stars Not so great, April 10, 2011

This review is from: Satechi® Universal Bike Holder & Mount for iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5S, 5C, 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, Samsung Galaxy S4, S3, S2, Note, Note 2, Nexus S, HTC One X, S, Motorola Droid Razr HD, Maxx, Nokia Lumia 920, LG Optimus G on Windshield & Dashboard (Bike Holder) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
As a new IPhone owner and an avid biker, I was looking for something like this mount for my mountain bike. There's a couple of things about it I didn't like:

1. It's huge. While the design makes it possible to mount your phone in just about any position, the price for that flexibility is its size and weight. The phone winds up a city block from the handlebars - in my case it was pretty much in my face. Kind of looked Rube Goldberg to me.

2. The clamp didn't work very well on my tapered handlebars. My shifters prevented me from mounting it anywhere but on the tapered part.

On the upside, it did hold the phone securely and it is certainly well made. But after one outing, I took it off and the phone went back into my pocket. I'll be looking for something a little simpler and more compact.

Sounds like a more of a vanity issue and less of a product issue huh?

A city block seems cost prohibitive in materials alone. Very surprising.
