I primarily bought this as I wanted a Hand/Wrist strap as I find that much more comfortable than hanging the camera around my neck.
I am using this with a Sony a77 (so...semi pro DSLR weight) and it works great as a wrist strap which is really comfortable and allows me to loosen my grip without worrying about the camera falling.
As a neck strap it also works well as it mounts using the tripod screw and therefore the camera hangs lens down which I find more comfortable.
I only have 2 real issues. As a shoulder strap it is pretty useless as the cord is just too short. Additionally if you use a tripod and have a quick release plate for your camera it becomes tedious switching between the plate and the Joby as they both use your one available tripod mount.
