Excellent Vesa 100 wall mount!,
This review is from: VideoSecu LCD Monitor TV Wall Mount Articulating Arm Bracket for most 12"-24", some up to 27" with VESA 100/75mm LED Flat Panel Screen TV ML10B 1E9 (Electronics)
I bought this mount to mount a 22" Vizio HD TV in my wife's den, so that we could rid ourselves of the old 19" CRT TV that was taking up a lot of space in there. I bought this mount for a little over $16, where other mounts of the same type are easily double to quadruple that price for similar items at local stores. Unbelievable price! I would certainly recommend it to anyone!
The unit is very solid and comes with plenty of mounting hardware to mount your TV and some to mount the wall bracket. It's pretty straight forward (common sense) to figure out which screws to use to mount the TV to the face, but the directions to secure the wall bracket to the wall are SEVERELY Lacking! The one thing they are 100% clear about is that you should attach the lag bolts to the center of the wall stud (with exception mentioned below).
Several other reviewers mentioned that when the TV is mounted it will hang in such a way that the TV is not level while you are viewing it--that is, if you attempt to make the lag bolts perfectly vertical to each other (as shown in the "directions"). Here's what I did to get around that issue (as mentioned by others):
I mounted the top bolt first with the TV already attached. (Impossible without an assistant) The assistant held the mount against the wall in such a way that the TV would hang level while viewing it. Then I marked the spot for the bottom lag bolt. (which ended up clearly off-center)
NOTE: I used 5/16" bit to pre-drill the holes for the plastic anchors for the lag bolts. There seems to be a tiny amount of slop after they are inserted thru the dry-wall and stud, which makes me a little uncomfortable about their hold potential. Luckily, so far it's holding fine. In retrospect, I wish I had used a 9/32" drill bit, if only I had one. Of course, the correct size to use is not mentioned in the instructions.
