This review is from: Acer Aspire V3-571G-6407 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black) (Personal Computers)
WHY DOES THE SCREEN QUALITY SUCK!! i've a HP laptop prior to this and the specs of it were all great just like this one except the screen quality/color. The one gripe i really have about it is the quality of the monitor built in does not display true to life picture and it looks all washed up. When compared side by side to a dell xps 15z that i recently had and returned (because of some fan noise issues) and this screen looks BAD. The blacks do not look black and the whites do not look white, heck the red's dont look red, they look like faded reddish almost pinkish. Other then that, fantastic laptop. Well built body with a great look to it, i would recommend based on its aesthetic look itself. It is also lightweight and the hardware that comes with it is definitely worth the money. Though if you are a display color/sharpness freak like me i would not recommend this very very very low contrast ratio display that comes with the laptop.

K. F. says:
It sounds to me like you got a defective unit. The screen color and contrast ratio are fine on mine. Make sure you have the screen tilted back far enough, if you look at it from a high angle it does tend to look washed out. But if you're looking at it straight on and the colors are that bad, I think you should try to RMA-exchange it.
