This review is from: 52MM Professional Lens Accessory Kit for PANASONIC LUMIX DMC-LX5 LEICA D-LUX 5 - Includes: 2.2x Telephoto & 0.43x High Definition Lenses + Lens Adapter Tube + Auto Lens Cap + UV Filter + Tulip Flower Lens Hood + Center Pinch Lens Cap w/ Cap Keeper + Deluxe Cleaning Kit + Premium MagicFiber Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (Electronics)
I wanted to hold off on reviewing this kit until I'd had a chance to play with it some. I've done everything but use the wide angle/macro lens. On that you'll have to read other people's reviews.

First off, when everything showed up there was a note from the seller in the box saying that they'd send me a 'free' lens cloth if I gave them a 5 star review. They also emailed me about this offer too. My 3 star rating is not to punish this blatant grab for positive reviews, but to give an honest review. If you're looking for this kit to turn your Lumix-LX5 into something comparable to a DSLR, don't do it. But if you're looking to this kit to just give you a few extra options, then it's not bad.

First, the auto lens cap. I'm using this auto lens just about all of the time. It does have gaps where the pieces meet up, but it does offer some protection when my camera is out of its hard case. If you want to correct the gaps yourself there are numerous websites where photographers give some good, detailed instructions. I've not done any of these modifications.

As to the adapter, you will have to take the camera to at least mid telephoto in any of your shots in order not to see the sides of the adapter. This was expected when I got it.

The filters are basically clear filters and only offer protection to the camera's lens. They do nothing for your shots. Sorry, camera geeks might argue otherwise but these filters only offer protection.

The filters do not go on the outside of the wide angle or the telephoto lenses. They only fit the adapter's body. The lens hood does not fit the wide angle or telephoto lenses either. It's designed to go straight onto the adapter or threaded onto one of the filters.

My only use of the adapter, filter, and lens hood was to protect my camera's lens in rainy or dusty conditions. I've also used it with a polarized filter I had from my old kit on bright days.

The telephoto lens is decent. Again, with the adapter on the camera body you have to start out at about halfway in the telephoto range to hide the adapter. Did the telephoto lens really improve my pictures? Eh, it was OK. I'd argue that you can't use the telephoto in low light conditions. The camera's sensors will never adjust correctly to compensate for the added focal length. Use the telephoto only for well lit subjects.

I've yet to use the wide angle lens. The camera has a decent enough wide angle setting without any added lens. At some point I do plan to play with it.

Overall it's a good price for the stuff that comes in the kit. If you're looking for add-ons to turn the LX-5 into something comparable to a DSLR or EVIL with all of their possible features, then you'll be disappointed. The kit is worth it for the automatic lens cover, the adapter, the clear filters, and the hood. The telephoto lens is decent but be aware of your lighting when you use it.
