Not recognized by DirectTV,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Haier 32-Inch 720p 60Hz LCD TV - Black (L32B1120) (Electronics)
We learned from the technician during installation that Haier is not recognized by DirectTV ( and maybe other services), and this means that the remote for channels cannot be programmed with the Haier. The consumer must use two remotes to operate the set. The Haier remote turns in on and off and volume. Then the DirectTV remote must be used to select channels. Both DirectTv and Haier Consumer services said they could do nothing about this. It is a real inconvenience, and it is most unfortunate that we did not know about it before making the purchase. So---if any consumer prefers to use only one remote, be sure your service recognizes Haier.

That's strange. I have a Haier and I get DirecTV. The technician that did the installation put in special connections and knew what to do. The remote was programmed too but I had two remotes. One for the TV and one for DirecTV. Seems like the person who did the installation didn't know how to do it.
