Too many details,
This review is from: Wingtips Under a Bolivian Poncho (Kindle Edition)
This book is about a businessman with a family and a high powered job who gets a job working in Bolivia for 6 months. It talks about how he has to balance work and family while living in a foreign country.
I found the idea to be a good one. I wanted to like this book. I have traveled and therefore was interested in seeing how other people do it, how they balance their lives while abroad. However, the author gets way too deep into the minutia. In the first few chapters, he details what they are eating, how he drives home, what he thinks about, what exactly he says to his wife, how they are sitting and what time they go to bed. I had a hard time deciphering what was important and relevant to the story and what was not.
I feel that with a good edit, this could be a great story. However, with all the extraneous details, I had a hard time getting into the story.
I give this book a 2 out of 5.
I received this book for free from Dorrance Publishing in return for an honest review.
