Good points, bad points, and potty-mouth,
This review is from: What you wear can change your life (Paperback)
This companion book from the BBC show "What Not To Wear" contains generally solid advice about dressing for success, and includes sections on understanding your body shape, proper undergarments, make-up, general color choice, pregnancy clothing, scaling jewelry to your bone structure, as well as pant, neck-line, shoe and boot style guidelines for your body type, etc. Not bad at all, particularly if you like Trinny and Susannah and are a fan of the show.
The photos are large and clear and illustrate their points well. To their credit, these photos show Trinny and Susannah at their absolute un-made-up worst -- they are brave and admirable women indeed!
HOWEVER, this book is seriously marred by hard-to-read type layout at the beginning of each section and lots of casual potty-mouth language throughout the text, which detract from whatever useful advice might be found here. The language isn't even that bad, it's just stupid, and makes them appear painfully juvenile which in turn makes it very hard -- for this reader at least -- to take anything they have to say seriously.
The book is up-to-the-minute fashion-wise and well worth a look, but they could have benefited from a better editor.
