More like Under Aluminum Foil.,
This review is from: Under Armour UA Hustle MD Duffel (Sports)
My brother's gotten interested in fighting recently after I let him practice punches on some of my pads. Right now he's using a little drawstring backpack to hold his gloves, but he's going to need something bigger and better when he gets more gear like shin guards, headgear, bag gloves, etc. I ordered him this Hustle Storm duffle bag in what's gotta be the coolest color ever- hyper green. I have the Under Armour PTH® Victory Medium Team Duffel Bag for my gear and absolutely love it. After this one arrived in the mail, I kind of regret not getting him the same bag as me but in a different color. The Hustle Storm duffel bag isn't terrible, but it's not great either. Truth be told, I'd probably give it 4 stars if I didn't have a much better one myself to compare it to. It's just that compared to it, this one is a bit of a letdown. Let's start with the good though.
The main storage compartment is huge. I took out the gear from my bag and put it in this one, and everything fit just fine. I was able to store an Everlast Thai pad, two pairs of gloves, two Mantis mitts and shorts, and there was still plenty of room for more. The zippers on each compartment open easily and close perfectly. I really liked the little UA logo zipper pull thingy on the Storm pocket too. The side compartment that zips has a vented area, making this ideal for your dirty clothes or shoes. I wear a size 11 in Nike shoes, and was able to put a pair in this compartment without any problems. Then there's the two handles that can be held together with a little velcro closure for easy carrying. Finally, the hyper green color is just plain incredible and I wish my Victory bag had that option! Trust me when I say that it looks -much- better in person than it does in the stock image, where it looks more like a lime green. If you want something that's going to be easy to see wherever you go, hyper green is what you want.
That's a lot of good, right? Unfortunately, the quality of the bag itself isn't one of the things mentioned above. This bag is very thin. So thin that I said "...oh" out loud when I took it out of the packaging. Sure enough, it's nowhere near as thick as my Victory bag. Maybe it's because this one was made to repel 'the elements', but that's only going to really help you if you use this for camping or hiking. And if you need a bag for either of those, there are better options out there. Why get a thin bag that can be punctured easily? I don't trust this material for anything more than gym use. Even the shoulder strap feels wimpy. As for the Storm pocket, all you're going to use this thing for is your phone, mp3 player, keys and maybe your wallet. It's too small to be used for much else. There's another pocket on the side of the bag you could use for a towel or something. It's just a 2/3-pocket that's open and doesn't close in any way. There are no interior pockets either.
For the same price as the Victory bag, you're getting one made with a thinner material and with less storage. Let me say that one more time- FOR THE SAME PRICE. That being said, I strongly recommend the Victory over this one unless you only need something for the gym. Yes, the Hustle Storm duffel bag is lighter, but I wouldn't be surprised if the plastic hooks that the shoulder strap fastens to the bag with broke if you put too much stuff in it. Here you get a ton of cool color options, so determine if you need style over strength. If any stores in your area carry this bag, go check it out before ordering.
