The crazy man who cried WOLF!,
This review is from: Dead Cert (DVD)
An odd hybrid, mostly gangster, very little vampire, not enough of either to truly satisfy, but the story was simple enough: a `retired' gangster (Craig Fairbrass) opens a club called Inferno. It lives up to its name when a foreign businessman, Dante Livenko (Billy Murray), more or less demands they sell it to him....or else. The "or else" doesn't come until the last third of the movie when it's revealed that the businessman and his coterie are all vampires. Throw in a harbinger (a Van Helsing type of a weirdo), and you've got the makings of a limp horror/action flick. The problem with this movie is that it wants to be both a gangster movie and a vampire movie but it really doesn't succeed with either genre. At best, it's just weird. I'd say it was watchable, I'm not sorry I saw it, but I'm not keeping it for future viewings.
