3.0 out of 5 stars Great 3D, Poor quality plastic, August 19, 2012
This review is from: Panasonic VIERA TY-EP3D10UB Passive Polarized 3D Eyewear (Electronics)
I got 4 of them with my Viera TV, and 2 have broken (cracked plastic) in the same place in the same fashion (just above the left brow, cracking away from the forehead).

Because of the similarity of the breakage, I am guessing this is a design flaw. There are no hinges on the glasses, and they are designed in such a way to flex to accomodate different sized heads/faces. Because the flex is not provided by hinges, but just the natural flexing properties of the bridge connecting the two sides, this leads to a certain amount of wear on the structural integrity of this plastic piece every time you use the glasses. Eventually, I think they will all give out in this way.

Of course I could be wrong, and I could have just gotten two bad units. They could have been damaged during shipping.

Be especially careful if you have to wear them over normal eyeglasses, as you will need to flex them even more to put them on.

Other than that, they work great in providing the 3D effect. The 3D is amazing.

I will update again if more break.
