Interesting but not a great read,

This review is from: House Rules: A Novel (Kindle Edition)
I have read all of Jodi Picoult's novels, and loved most of them. This novel however, was very disappointing for a number of reasons. It asserts that Jacob did not understand irony and subtlety, yet many of his comments were based on irony, particularly when talking to his mother. The ending? I thought my kindle had eaten a chapter as there were so many loose ends, and it was so frustrating to have read 600 pages only to be left in limbo on so many fronts. Some obvious questions could have been asked (and in real life WOULD have been asked) very early one, which means really that there was no story to be had here. Not sure if I will buy another one if this is to be the trend. Dont buy it, wait for the library to loan it and save your money.
