Very Upscale for the Money, a Classic,
This review is from: Seiko Divers Automatic Black Monster SKX779K Men's Watch (Watch)
I must admit upfront I'm a watch freak, the owner of dozens of big watches, well over 52mm, with brands such as Nixon, Invicta, Citizen (Professional Diver), etc. But I have to say my Seiko Black Monster, my smallest watch at 43mm across the bezel, doesn't look small at all. It has a heft about it, thanks in part to the bezel's thickness.
As far as styling goes, you have to get this watch with the metal bracelet. The stainless steel bracelet blends into the matching bezel edge, contributing largely to this watch's upscale look. If you need a rubber strap, buy one aftermarket.
If you don't like to "baby" automatic watches, making sure they're wound up through constant movement, this watch may not be for you. You cannot wind this watch. It only stays activated through movement, which means if this watch is part of a large rotation, you will have to reset the time, date, and day of the week every time, which takes about 3 minutes.
I agree with those who say this watch looks like it costs between $1,000 and $2,000 and that it is worth the extra "work" as an automatic watch. Highly recommended.
