A perfect blend of rock and harmony, February 22, 2001

I was completely blown away by this album. Before this album, I hadn't even heard of RHCP. I fell in love with the singles and I knew I had to by the album. I hate to use a cliche, but this album relly does have everything. THe thumping bass and Anthony Keidis's zesty lyrics hit you from "Around the world" to "Road Trippin.'" The writing on this album is unbeleivable. Unlike the world of pop that's taking over our radio stations, the bass is a driving force in all of RHCP's music. Anthony's smoky voice is perfect for the wild harmonies between the bass and guitar. It creates an unbelievable type of rock that blends a thrashing edge and a unique style of harmonizing with lyrics that are never subtle. Three thumbs up, buy it today, you'll never be sorry.
