reviewing the old,
This review is from: GARDENA 1971 Aquazoom 2700-Square Foot Oscillating Sprinkler (Lawn & Patio)I've had a Gardena sprinker similar to these for 20 years. It just works. Sophistication is overrated. Keep it simple and nothing breaks. They've re-done with base with self-serving plastic (used to be aluminum rods), but I'd probably buy this one if and when mine breaks. Sometimes the oscillator hangs up, just give it a turn and off she goes.
Don't buy the stupid plastic quick connects. Invest in brass. I threw the plastics away after one season of use, and I've now had the original brass interconnects for over 20 years.
The only problem is getting the brass interconnects to mate properly with the gardena. - The hose connect is recessed too deep for a tight fit. I'm going to fashion a small interconnect hose and attach the quick connect to that.

Nothing is made the way it was 20 years ago. Please only review the exact item on this page, not something from a different world and time.
