This review is from: The Rock: The Epic Journey of Dwayne Johnson [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
SO The Rock is finally getting a documentary set. Perfect time as he is wrestling what will likely be his final match at WM28 just weeks after this is officially out.

Disc 1 - Documentary (chapters already listed by another user).

I really wanna go through just some of the following:

SSeries 96 - Debut of The Rock (or as he was called at the time, Rocky Miavia). Rock's come a hell of a long way from what you'll see here. Especially with the hair lol! Debuting at SSeries in MSG? How many people, if any can top that? Rock' team consisted of Marc Mero (he was still The Wildman), Barry Windham & Jake Roberts. Their opponents? HHH, Goldust, Crush, and Lawler.

SSlam 98 - The infamous Ladder match from one of the best ppvs & one of the best SSlam's in WWE. It's been released & seen before. But it's one of Rock's best matches & deserves to be on here.

Breakdown: IYH - Rock, Shamrock, Mankind in a triple threat Steel Cage match. If that isn't enough, the winner is supposedly the #1 Contender. And I say supposedly because I'm not sure if the winner actually got his one on one Title match before the SSeries 98 Deadly Game Tournament.

Royal Rumble 99 - The I Quit match! Rock vs Mankind. This is a brutal, brutal match. And that is putting it mildly. Make sure your kids/younger siblings are dreaming while you watch this.

Backlash 99 - I'm glad this is here because as great as Austin vs Rock was at WM15, I liked this one a bit better & they've had better WM bouts.

SSlam 2000 - Rock vs Angle vs HHH for the WWE Title. It was a great bout. Great build-up too.

Raw, 12/18/00 - Here, we have Rock & Taker (in his biker days. The ABA to be more specific) against E&C (Edge & Christian) for the Tag Titles. A rare bout. And a good one.

Raw, 07/29/02 - Rock defends the Undisputed Title against Flair. They could've added something else instead of this. Not saying it was bad. There were just better stuff from Rock's career.

SSlam 2002 - This time, The Rock doesn't defend the Undisputed Title against a legend. He defends it against a young, hungry up & coming powerhouse.

No Way Out 2003 - The rematch from WM18. It would have fit if they added that match too. But this a more rare match compared to that one. The WM18 match had a better feel to it though. The atmosphere, buildup, event it was held, it all just fit the first time.

Raw, 2/14/11 - The WM27 guest host is revealed. The Rock returned to the WWE! FINALLY!

no The Rock never did, get the 1 on 1 match. It was actually funny (to me at least). The following month is Judgment Day which I was at, with Taker vs. Kane for the title with Austin as the ref (the night where Austin is "fired"). That night The Rock gets squashed by Mark Henry.

ANAN says:
It would've been better if either
1. the winner Triple Threat Cage match at Breakdown got a Title shot the next night on RAW or at SSeries. This was kinda done before the same year where Taker (dressed as Kane) beat Mankind before the July ppv to earn a Title shot in August at SSlam.

Or

2. Triple Threat Cage match happens at Judgment Day with the winner getting a Title shot at SSeries.

Now the Title would be vacated after Judgment Day because of the finish to the Taker/Kane match. Therefore, The Deadly Game Tournament could take place culminating in a Title bout at SSeries or at the ppv itself like it did in reality with the Title match being the final bout. Either way, the Cage match winner would be inserted into the match making it a Triple Threat.

Either that or have the Cage match winner face the newly crowned Champion the next night on RAW.

As for Rock vs Henry......better bout would've been Rock vs D-Lo. But if memory serves, D-Lo had a match schedules already. I think against X-Pac for the European Title? But then again, D-Lo could wrestle twice in one night like Ziggler did at SSeries & Royal Rumble.
