1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap and Fake, July 9, 2010
By
This review is from: Genuine Buffalo Leather 7-Piece Motorcycle Saddlebag Luggage Set (Automotive)
I work as a pattern maker so i know real leather. This is fake material sprayed to smell like leather. It is poorly crafted and the stitching does not hold.

Seven bags for $57. And they're poorly made? You gotta be kidding me! You can't get a decent PURSE for $57! Really no surprise it's crap. ANYBODY should know that without ordering them. Geeze!

if your a pattern maker why did you buy cheap chinese bags? then gripe about the quality?

cant you just make your own and not carp about 59 dollar bags.

everyone else knows that you get what you pay for, did you miss that day in class, pattern maker.
the smell, as you well know, comes from the treatment of the leather, not from a spray.

The reviewer was complaining that the item was advertised as "Genuine Buffalo Leather" when in fact it is not any kind of leather at all. She was the one who stated that the fake smell came from a spray so I don't know why you even mentioned that.

I found her review to be valuable and it supports my initial gut feeling that these were cheaply made products. However, I am surprised that they are not even real leather. I would have expected them to be leather, just thin and cheap leather. Not completely fake as the reviews mostly indicate. Companies don't usually blatantly misrepresent their products as this one seems to do so. I think that Helen's point was that this company is obviously fraudulent and is selling something that is not even worth the low price they are charging.
