5.0 out of 5 stars Wear inside front pocket, not outside your belt!!, November 16, 2007
Length:: 0:33 Mins

With a little modification, this holster can be a lot more convenient. When you clip these kind of cases to your belt, it isn't too long before it gets caught on something and breaks! Remember the old days of pagers, when you could carry them inside your pocket or on your belt? The free BlackBerry "calculator case" included with my phone was almost perfect... but it didn't have a clip so when I placed the case in my front pocket, it fell to the bottom of my pocket and made it impossible to reach when the phone was ringing.

This optional holster is strong enough to hold the phone on its own, so the little magnetic flap is unnecessary and prohibits you from simply turning the case around and placing the whole thing inside your pocket. But with a pair of scissors, the only thing showing outside your clothing is the small plastic clip. Because of the officially-licensed "proximity sensor" built into this case, you simply slide the phone back in to the case in your pocket and it automatically locks the keys from accidentally speed dialing your boss. Just cut off that stupid front flap and this case is perfect for anyone with a little touch of modern style, unless you're happy looking like some wannabe superhero with a utility belt.

 J. E. Lewis says:
Why should I have to take a brand new case and cut it up to make it work? The fact remains that the clip has a very limited life span. It has a really weak plastic shaft taking all the strain every time the clip is opened. It will break even if you cut the case up and make into a bulky pocket sleeve. The clip on the case that I had didn't break because it snagged on something, it broke when I was simply spreading it to hook on my belt. Also, I'm not sure what kind of pockets that are built into the pants that you buy, but the front pocket of my slacks or my jeans are too small to put my Curve in when it is in this relatively bulky case.

The best thing to do is just get a better case. This one is cheaply made and is not worthy of the Blackberry logo printed on it. The magnetic flap was not secure enough to keep my BB inside the case all the time. Twice in the 3 weeks before the clip broke, my Curve actually fell out of the case onto the ground. Not cool.

The Seidio rubberized case and belt holster is my current favorite by far. It's nice and slim, fits tight to my body, it looks really good on the phone, doesn't look like a utility pouch of some sort, and includes the proximity sensor for the in-holster modes.
