Had potential but ruined by sub-par writing,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Under Her Skin (Kindle Edition)
I was excited when I got this book as a Kindle freebie because I think the story line had potentials. However, a couple of chapters in and I realized that the writing is not quite is up to par, the characters are flat and one dimensional and there was too much going on in the story at the same time. The characters are quite unbelievable and their behaviors are not quite what you would expect. Tobias is such a manwhore in the first 30% of the book but all of a sudden he is alright with being monogamous? The fast switch is not believable. Marlo's brother,Dusty, has no personalities at all, why would he be so nonchalant about his sister (an innocent virgin) dating his bf which he knows for a fact is a huge player and a manwhore? He didn't even give the threats a protective older brother usually doles out to a player wanting to go near their little sister, he just acted like he didn't care at all and accepted the fact. One reason given why Marlo didn't have too much experience with men was because of his protective brother, so he protected her her whole life then give her up to the wolf? It just doesn't make sense at all. Some characters like the other two band mates might as well be cardboard cutouts because they have such undistinguished characterizations and they serve no purpose at all, they are just there. I kept waiting for it to get better but unfortunately it didn't, at least it was free. Not going to try this author's other works.
