An informative and important read!,
This review is from: The Food Security Reader: The Best of Truth about Trade & Technology (Paperback)
In spite of advances in technology, ranging from mechanical equipment and improvements in weather prediction to better, genetically engineered plants, farming still remains a difficult undertaking. The various articles in this volume clearly and honestly convey those travails and the issues that are important to the continued success of American farmers. A common thread is that public policy -- the regulation of genetically engineered crops, for example -- is too often unscientific and unconstructive.
This book should be widely read -- especially by those who are ignorant about farming, such as urban dwellers and members of Congress and their staffs.
