Joy: In Baking, Humor, and Life,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Joy the Baker Cookbook: 100 Simple and Comforting Recipes (Paperback)
First off, let me say that I've been reading Joy's blog since around 2009, so I feel like I know Joy very well.
That said, this book is her baby. She loved it, you can tell, by the detail, images, stories, and humor within the book. This is not just recipes, this is Joy sharing her love of baking.
But the recipes! Amazing. 90% of them have not appeared on joythebaker.com and all of them look amazing.
So far I've made:
Banana Rum Cake
and they've all turned out mind-blowingly amazing.
The banana rum cake is especially delicious, as it basically tastes like souped-up banana bread, although I used chocolate frosting instead of the brown butter frosting she recommends.
I really can't speak highly enough of this book. Buy it, bake some food, and share it with people you love, people you hate (who will soon love you), or heck, even strangers. There's a new way to make friends.
Love Joy. Love this book.
