This Book Has Changed My Life,
This review is from: Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives (Paperback)This book is amazing! I have been an atheist all my life despite (or is it as a result of?) attending Hebrew school as a child and Christian school from 4th through 12th grade. In my final year in college, I took an Intro to Buddhism course and was immediately intrigued by Buddhist teachings and philosophies. But my exploration of Buddhism hit a wall, because I could not convince myself to subscribe to one of the fundamental tennets of Buddhism: the belief in reincarnation. I just didn't believe in reincarnation at all. I was always of the "You Die and That's It" school. Nothing even remotely changed this view for years--until last week when I read this book. In the span of less than 24 hours, I went from not believing in reincarnation at all to being almost completely convinced of its existence.
I read this book with a very skeptical eye. But I also read it with objectivity, and, above all else, an intense desire to find truth. And I believe the account in this book to be factual. For the sake of argument, if it's a fake, it's an absolutely brilliant fake. But if it's completely authentic, then it's a phenomenal account that could change your life for the better. Either way, it's worth a read.

I'm Curious. Now that you are several years removed from your initial review of this book what are your feelings about the subject matter. Have you deepened in your view and belief of reincarnation? Or have you perhaps tempered in your initial zeal and being "convinced" of our past lives? If you get a chance to respond I would love to know.

I noticed you attended Hebrew school. A really great book which you may want to read is Beyond the Ashes, Cases of Reincarnation from the Holocaust by Rabbi Yonassan Gershom. It is fascinating and very enlightening. I am not Jewish, so this book is not just for those of the Jewish faith. It is a book for anyone who is seeking truth and enlightenment. The subject matter is grim, but it doesn't get any more real than this. It does, however, help one learn to come to terms with darkness and shows a way that it can, has and will be overcome. I learned about the holocaust when I was about 11 or 12 years of age. I was stunned and horrified that such a thing actually happened. In fact, at age 49, I am still horrified and sickened by it. So, while I am not Jewish and don't have any reason to believe I was in a previous incarnation, this book has been very helpful. The author also speaks about how the holocaust has effected the consciousness of humanity in general. Some may need to protect themselves from this subject. For one seeking truth, understanding and answers, Rabbi Gershom's book is a unique work which is offers something that other books on reincarnation may not. It is not for everyone, though. A person as kind and gentle as my mother, and other sensitive types, could not bear it. It is a book for all faiths, as we all must deal with overcoming darkness and despair.

i just got this book from the local library yesterday. it was recommended to me by my SisterInLaw several years ago. i have been involved with metaphysical stuff for at least 40 years, so this subject is not new to me. i'm finding the book a bit disappointing, but considering when it was written....but if this really is a true story, i do think it at least needs a rewrite. i'm encountering so much doubt, which could be just due to the sketchy writing. but i'm even finding myself question the veracity of Dr. Weiss's credentials...so i began a search and found this so far. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gR5ENyez1
