This review is from: Kindle Fire: The Missing Manual: The book that should have been in the box (Kindle Edition)
The Kindle Fire is very nice little machine, but it's not exactly intuitive for a long-time PC user. The guide that comes on the Fire is pretty inadequate, and The Missing Manual helped me a lot, especially since this is my first touch-screen device. The book clearly explained the major features of the Fire and, more importantly, how to start using them, with an honest assessment of its limitations and how that might compare to my expectations. This book made me more excited about owning a Fire and how useful it could become. There is a lot of info up on the Amazon Kindle website, so if you already have an attitude about devices like this you might be able to make do with what's up there, but I liked the author's take.
