Continuation of an Awesome Story!,
This review is from: Little Black Girl Lost 2 (v. 2) (Paperback)
OMG, I purchased Little Black Girl Lost (LBGL) 1 & 2 at the same time and I'm so glad I did. As soon as I read the last page of LBGL1 I immediately reached for the second book in the series because I did not want the story to end. I experienced so many emotions and got so caught up in the story that it felt like little Johnnie Wise was a personal friend of mine so I just had to know the outcome of the story.
Mr. Johnson has done a fabulous job of weaving a story of love, lust, betrayal, family bonds and survival. He has demonstrated how easy it is for a person to live a perfectly normal, ordinary life one day and the next gain the kind of power and influence instrumental in setting off a chain of events that lead an entire town to a race riot that caused mass destruction of human lives and lost property.
So much drama! From to having to sleep with one of New Orleans most powerful gangsters to save the life of her boyfriend and high school sweetheart (who is incarcerated for selling drugs) to posing as a maid for a wealthy white family to gain information about the family patriarch--her grandfather, Johnnie Wise, at the tender age of sixteen has lived an unbelievably tragic life.
Things can't get any worse...or can they? I guess we'll just have to wait and see what new twists and turns Mr. Johnson has in store for this cast of characters in the next book in this thrilling trilogy, Little Black Girl Lost 3. I'll say it again...in my opinion, Mr. Johnson is a gifted storyteller and it would not surprise me in the least to see this story on the big screen in the future.
