Solid, simple, effective,
My first impressions after getting this was how solid this little bugger is. Nothing cheap about it. Solid brass and chrome plating; just like they used to make shower heads before the cheapy plastic models arrived.
After installation, I was immediately impressed with the water pressure and what seems to be generous water flow. It just doesn't appear like I'm giving up anything going from a standard 2.5 GPM shower head to this new 1.5 GPM Ultra Saver.
There have been reports of issues with this model in the comments, but I just don't see less than outstanding quality. I figured that the cut-off water knob might be hard to move side-to-side, but it moves surprisingly easy. Somebody mentioned that their knob just popped out the side, shooting water everywhere. I do see a c-clamp attached to one side to prevent it from flying off. Maybe their knob wasn't seated properly, or was missing. Either way, I would think a quality USA company, like Whedon, would stand behind their product and fix it for free; if you simply gave them a call.
Consider that Whedon has been making these shower heads since the 1970's. That tells me they work effectively and are still in demand by customers; otherwise they would have been discontinued or Whedon would be out of business. Neither is the case.
A fine product; highly recommended.
EDIT UPDATE 1/26/2013: Shower head is still going strong. Cut our water will by $20/month (family of four). One additional comment on the shut-off valve... It is designed to not shut the water all the way off. It intentionally keeps a small amount of water flowing in order to keep the water warm in the pipe so the next time you turn it back on you don't get cold water. Seems a couple people didn't catch that feature on the packaging. (Ultra Saver 1.5 Shower w/ in-line trickle valve).
