Data to compare colors and weights, with and without light,
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Burgundy Red (Fits Kindle Keyboard) (Accessory)
Have a good scale and have now seen all cover colors, so here's data to help you pick. VERY well made cover.
Weights are for the cover only, not including the Kindle:
Cover without light -- 170 grams or 6 ounces
Cover WITH light -- 240 grams or 8-1/2 ounces
Only you know whether the 2-1/2 ounce difference in weight is worth carrying all the time to have a light always at hand.
The most accurate depiction of the cover colors is the photograph at the bottom of the sales page.
Burnt Orange -- same shade as a basketball
Burgundy Red -- closer to a vibrant brick red as it has no purple overtone
Steel Blue -- pure grey blue which shows well on web page
Hot Pink -- deeper shade than it appears anywhere but photograph
Green -- picture a Granny Smith apple
Brown -- very deep brown, not a chocolate color

Great help...thanks....I am opting for the non-lighted one...just dont want even the slightest added weight...plus it would drive me bonkers to not be able to adjust the light as I can now with my little bright light...which I've had 5 years and its never run out of battery power...so that was a great purchase...I read more in daylight anyhow...and when I do read at night I have a small light on....this case would be nice to not have to carry the bright light w/me...but that can be folded and put inside my little kindle bag I got on overstockdotcom anyhow...so I'm opting for the non lighted pink out...and will purchase a case with the flip back (like a spiral note pad) and more secure..corners on the right side...when this particular company comes out with one for K3...I love the one I got from them for the K2...so will wait...until then...I'll get the non lighted one from amazon..thanks again.

I own this cover and anyone who buys this needs to apply a 1-2" square velcro patch between the cover and the Kindle in order to prevent lateral movement (the case's prongs are extremely rigid and without the velcro padding the Kindle will suffer cracks due to lateral movement). The case itself is well made and I love it, but it should include a velcro patch or be redesigned to prevent Kindle "flux". Without doing this, your Kindle WILL crack at the lower left corner within 2-3 weeks.
