What is there to "root out"? In the "Technical Details" section above, the first thing you should be looking at, the second line tells you it shoots at 30fps. It is mentioned again two columns down under the Manufacturers Product Description. NO WHERE does it mention Image Stabilization capability.
Now go look at all the $180 third gen models. All note 60fps and Image Stabilization. If you want to know why we are getting our behinds kicked by other countries in science, math and comprehension skills, look no further than this stupid thread and the apparent laziness of some consumers.
Because one guy assumes that "Third Generation" means ALL Flips now offer 60fps and Image Stabilization on ANY cost model, he therefore feels entitled to infer that either Amazon or Flip or engaging in dishonest business practices?
I have nothing to do with either Flip/Cisco or Amazon, but as a former small business owner, I recognize slander when I see it.
This THIRD Gen 4GB model is smaller and weighs an ounce less than the second gen. Some people were worried the sealed-in Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery in the previous gens could present early IPOD-like problems (dead battery=dead camera), so the third gen now utilizes AA batteries (regular or rechargeable).
One guy doesn't do his homework, doesn't read the readily available product description offered here, and it's Cisco/Amazon trying to pull a fast one???
Pretty sad when you think about it.
If you can find a better HD pocket camera that shoots a clearer image, that works as easily with both iMac and Windows (Mac users watch out for Kodak cameras!) for under $100, then you should buy it.
