Excellent customer service - great product,
This review is from: Scotch Thermal Laminator 2 Roller System (TL901) (Office Product)
This is a great little laminator, and I've used it even more than expected. But during a momentary lapse of reason, I tried to use a partial pouch - one that was not sealed on the bottom. They tell you not to do it, but I did anyway. Everything disappeared into the machine, and didn't come back out. It didn't look like I could open it up without destroying it, so I called their 800 number. They were so nice, and they sent me a mailing label to ship it back for free. They said that if they could fix it, they would do so and send it back. If they couldn't, they would send me a new one. All free of charge - which is incredible since it was my own fault for doing what they said not to do. I just got a new one in the mail. I only paid $30 for this, yet they replaced it free of charge when I messed it up. You just can't do any better than that!

No it does not. There is almost no smell at all!
I order the laminating pouches off Amazon from Laminating Depot and they are inexpensive and work wonderfully! DO NOT buy pouches from some place like Office Max. There you get like 50 for $30 and on here you get 100 for $12. They are good quality pouches too. I'm a teacher & I've used this little machine excessively and it takes a licking & keeps on ticking! Happy to hear about the good customer service too!

I have this laminator too and it's worked well. i've owned 3 personal laminators and this one is by far the best. By the way, are you a Pink Floyd fan? They have a song titled "A Momentary Lapse of Reason". I know the phrase can be a somewhat common way of saying, "I used poor judgement", but, I couldn't help myself from making the association. Have a great week!

I only know some of Pink Floyd's work but I'm not even sure if your post was for me or the OP. ;)

I am concerned that if I purchase this laminator it may destroy the documents I put inside if they get stuck, or if like the original poster stated-I have to break the machine to get it out or send it back to the company and have them try to retrieve my document. Maybe I can copy or scan the documents first and then try laminating...anyone have any experience with this specific problem? Also how long does it take normally to laminate a normal 8.5 by 11 page? How many 2 sided pages will one cartridge laminate? Btw, Fearless if my favorite Pink Floyd tune ;-)

I am a teacher and I have had the same laminator for 3 years. My laminator gets VERY heavy use and I have NEVER had a document get stuck in it. A big part of it is making sure that you feed it in correctly and have it lined up right. A normal sized page takes about 10 seconds to laminate. I am completely satisfied with this product. I know some day it will need to be replaced, but I'm still amazed that after all the stuff I have put through this machine, it still works like a champ!

Mom of Girls says:
It will not destroy your documents, as long as you follow the instructions! You have to put a sealed end in first. I stupidly didn't do that, even though the instructions were very clear. If you are laminating something you don't have a duplicate of, then yes, copy it first. It only takes about 30 seconds (or less) to laminate a page. There are no "cartridges". You put each sheet in a single pouch, then run it through. And yes, you can put it 2 sheets to make it double sided.

Ha! Yes, I like Floyd, and that song is definitely appropriate for that situation. I saw them on the tour for that album.

Mine smells but this is only after the first time I used it. I am hoping that over time the smell won't occur anymore.
