1.0 out of 5 stars these eye masks SUCK, February 11, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Bucky 40 Blinks Luxury Ultralight Comfortable Contoured Eye Sleep Mask/Blindfold for Travel & Sleep - Black (Health and Beauty)
I have owned about 10 pairs of these bucky eyemasks, because in the beginning, they were great. I love that convex factor and that it is lightweight. However, the inside liner peels off within a few weeks/months. But, I liked them so much that I decided to overlook that problem and attribute it to normal wear and tear, so I bought a few more, which also fell apart (even faster I might add). THEN, I read somewhere that the company fixed that peeling-lining problem, so I gleefully bought 4 more of the "new" style, and all of those peeled off as well within a few weeks. I resent that claim that the problem had been rectified with a so-called new, improved design.

I am NEVER buying these again, and I feel compelled to inform everyone who is considering buying these that they are cheaply made and fall apart and are not meant to be washed. I have since purchased dream essentials which also has the raised portion so as not to weigh upon your eyes as you sleep, and I couldn't be happier. They launder very well, and will last for years compared to these eye masks. They actually have stitching rather than glue to hold the pieces together.

The same exact thing happened to mine, but I never even washed it. The mask lasted about six months before splitting apart.

Same happened to mine within a couple months, and it wasn't washed more than once or twice. This was 3 YEARS AGO, but I'm still using it, because my wife stitched around the edges (like the manufacturer should've done if they weren't so cheap)

Same here! After 4-5 wearings!

I've tried gluing. No luck. Thanks for the tip on Dream Essentials.

I can't help wondering why you kept buying multiples of these masks after having so much difficulty with them. I have used the same mask for months with no problem. I bought a second one for traveling, but it wouldn't occur to me to buy four just for myself.

Mine lasts for months without any issues. I have hand washed them with much success.

Yes, ours are almost one year old and the liner has come apart on the bottom. And we don't wah ours anddon't travel with them. Hopefully, they'll do some redesign and fix this. Otherwise, we're happy with them. Although many of the comments in the negative reiews are tue, they don't bother us generally in our use.

My first couple peeled, so I wrote to the company and they asked if I used any products on my skin. I did. They said they'd had a problem with this but they'd addressed the problem and changed the product. They sent me a new mask, which I am still using, a year or more later, with no peeling problem. This is a solid company and I have found they stand behind their products.

Mine peeled as well, but it was still very comfortable and worked just the same. I lost my old one and am more than happy to buy a replacement.

UPDATE: STILL using my Bucky, never wash it, travel with it, wear it every night and it's GREAT! If I have any negative thing to say about it, it's that eventually, the elastic loosens up. But who minds buying a new one every year or two? The dark colors work better than the lighter ones.
