Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Chamberlain CWPIR Wireless Motion Alert Add-on Sensor (Tools & Home Improvement)
For the options this is my choice. I bought two base units and three transmitters. I live on five acres and feel safer that I know if a perimeter has been breached. I do have some redundancy because they don't always fire off so with layers they catch it, and I'm not surprised by someone coming over. This is common with any PIR sensor no matter how much you pay for it. These PIR sensors are very well protected from climate which is half the battle with this type of sensor. They allow you to know which one was breached with number of tones.
The problems are it does give off some false alarms. Often it is small critters, low sunlight on a early morning/evening, & wind. Usually the positioning will solve some of those problems but not totally. Like I said redundancy has solved the issue because if I hear one sound and not the other its usually a false alarm. It is the nature of the beast in how such a device works with an electronic eye. It is guilty of working to well in that example.
